Milton Wine Shop, Malvern

The building is a traditional terrace on Malvern Road. Exposed red-brick walls and reclaimed Australian timber cocoon the cosy bar.

In addition to the main bar area is a spacious courtyard and a private living room-style space.

The open fire, warm timber finishes create a friendly and inviting atmosphere.

In this renovation of an old run down shop the owners realised their vision and created a cozy wine bar and cellar. The old bricks were stripped bare and then sandblasted and sealed, giving the whole place a New York industrial effect. Creative carpentry and steelwork to stack, store and showcase wine has provided the owners with a dual business; the selling of good wine and the offering of an intimate space to indulge in a glass or two with company.
